I’m watching this on a excellent-google pixel 7 pro I got $350 with tax
I’ve always had good experience buying refurbs. Sometimes that shit is new lol. Bought an eBay cert refurb S20 Ultra and got no complaints (except the charging brick was bad). Cheaper than Swappa.
Returning a used 13 mini rated excellent condition that has a 3rd party display with whine while on😊
1.600 dollars for a 3 year old phone is simply crazy!
Most of the tablets and phones I buy are refurbished. I’ve just taken them apart to replace the battery and the glass should they need replacement. I think the battery cost me roughly $15 and the front cover (which was the glass, the digitizer, and the frame) was roughly $32. Far cheaper than getting a new phone.
This video is very misleading. They are in a controlled environment, Ebay sent these, and they didn’t buy them randomly.
When buying something refurbished, it’s a hit or miss. Like playing in a casino, you either get a good product, good product with internal hardware defects, which are revealed later as you use them, and sometimes just horrible products. Don’t buy refurbished to save a couple hundred bucks.
as soon as I saw the sponsor being Ebay you know you cant trust it LOL
Why would u watch a review by people who are sponsored by the company they are reviewing
Many people sell their used iPhones while still using silicone casings, after cleaning they are still very good
Yes. Frankly on Android it’s like a cheat code. You wait 18 months and you get phones for like 33 cents on the dollar and these days they’re still going to get years of updates
Turn it on to see the displays and speeds
do they replace the battery?
one thing people should do when they buy a used phone, make sure the display is original, at least if you get an oled phone. you’ll find out very quick if its lcd or oled.
I am very nervous. I had to pull the trigger as stock for the iPhone 14 pro models were running low and just ordered an iPhone 14 PRO Max Ebay certified refurbished. I have never bought a refurbished phone before but I need to save money so this was the cheaper option. I am trying to watch videos to help me set up once it’s delivered to me.
actually orange peels and i saw this on SciShow’s channel are capable of recycling batterie components so yeah biology so maybe orange juice and the those peels may help our environment break down thos nasty components back into reusable components instead of sitting in a landfill.
sir I’ll see your video
i want to by old phone in ebay
how can I by rpl
I love getting refurbished phones because those tiny scratches are barely noticeable and even when you get a new phone over a little time it will look the same anyway
I’ve been buying refurbished tech for years. Fortunately, I cannot recall a bad experience. Unfortunately, I have had bad experiences with new tech. So it is kinds of like it has already been tested and determined to be fault-free. The reality is, in our western cultures, we simply throw out too much perfectly good stuff… unfortunately.
The issue with refurbished electronics is not the little nicks and scratches on the outside, it’s how much wear the chips and batteries have on the inside. Some phones are returned and refurbished for being buggy or having lost 30% of their battery capacity. You’re a lot more likely to get a lemon when you buy used.
You only saw the exterior, did not explain what goes on when a cell phone is refurbished
What about battery’s on them?
Of course they’re perfect, its eBay sending them to a big youtube channel. You ordinary individual on the other hand are playing roulette.
Make sure you read descriptions and make sure you can return it.
I like how they’re using the desk from the recent most clean set up video
I wish I could downvote this multiple times. I just resorted to buying an "eBay Refurbished" phone – I gave up on finding an iPhone Mini in something other than base spec here in Canada. Even Apple never seemed to have them.
The one I received is a heck of a lot more beat up than this video implies. It was *filthy*, zero cleaning whatsoever, with very noticeable marks on the screen glass and wear to the metal frame along the bottom edge. Had I known they were this bad I would’ve just bought a used device and save $100+ as I expect the warranty is useless for Canadians.
I would have liked it more if this wasn’t a sponsered video.
If they actually wanted to show quality comparison they should have gotten four of the same phone at the different quality levels
We need a secret shopper on this
This guys voice bothers me
I’m more curious about the battery states of those
I’m considering grabbing a refurbished iPhone or Samsung flagship next year. My mom got a refurbished iPhone SE 2022 for $385 CAD.
More Riley videos, please! 🙏
Great program from Electronic Bay Dot Com
lol Ebay sponsoring. I got a refurbished iphone last year and it’s already freezing up on me, never again!
I only buy my phones from eBay refurbished, haven’t gotten a dud yet
This is a great topic, shame it’s done for a sponsor instead of as a real test sponsored by someone unrelated to the refurbishment, or maybe D-Brand…
Nice Comercial
Hey, can you recommend me a refurbished website to buy an iphone from in Canada?
Ebay refurbished 1 year warranty is BS. I had a phone for less than 3 months, it was a good quality, google pixel 6. Came out of the box fingerprint ID didn’t work, then I dropped it with a Spigen Tough Armor Case from less than 2 feet high and the screen went completely bright green! Tried to contact Cellfee and they said it was outside out return policy so I tried to file a warranty claim and they said it wasn’t claimed under warranty. Very disappointed in the Ebay refurbished program!!!
For above 500$ there should not be any scratch wtf I rather buy a midrange phone new than buy a overpriced scratched up phone
Will verizon cover insurance on these?
i got my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 on ebay for $400
2:06 Oh come on, how could you call the A71 entry-level? It was literally the last stop before the S20 series (apart from the S10 Lite which is still an S series phone) and a midranger in every aspect
Honestly I’ve had good experience with specifically eBay refurbished devices, but those were laptops. Phones are far more complex, maybe a BestBuy + Amazon + eBay refurb showdown?
in the uk giffgaf have the best refurbished devices, i got a 14 pro max came immacualte and 100 percent health
for cheaper than everywhere else
Since this video is sponsored by eBay, I’m curious if eBay made sure that the "reviewers" received phones as in top condition as possible. It’s very unlikely that they will be sent a phone with a scratched screen or a faulty camera.
I vouch for refurbished phones. all phones when launched are all overpriced anyways.
Whereas once the unit was sold, it sorta immediately drops value. i used a refurbished samsung galaxy note 10 plus (80% battery health) for 3.5 years. i took care of the phone battery really well. And after 3.5 years, it is still very functional and relevant for the standard normal user activities. there is really no need to want better features eg. camera, or anything. Emphasized on the word "need".
It’s super disappointing for LTT to take a sponsorship on a used smartphone assessment. This is exactly the thing that should NEVER be sponsored.
Battery quality is super important!
I currently have a iPhone XR, have had it for years. It’s held up, but, unfortunately there are some cracks on the back of the phone. So when it gets to hot from charging or from the heat, it starts acting real slow. Plus my GPS/Waze/Google Maps don’t work. I don’t want to pay 1600$+ for a new iPhone. Looking at the refurbished route. I’m still very skeptical of buying a refurbished phone.
The only thing i afraid to buying used phone or refurbished phone is they can install something in there to steal your information like your bank account or credit card
